65% is the passing grade for all Regents exams.

Completing Service Hours each year is one of the requirements for graduation from Sacred Heart High School.

NATIONAL HONOR

Students meeting the following criteria and who are in good standing are eligible for the Honor Roll. Certificates are awarded quarterly.

  • High Honors: 95% average or better with no failing grades.
  • First Honors: 90% average or better with no failing grades.
  • Second Honors: 85% average or better with no failing grades

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

To be eligible for the National Honor Society, students must:

  • • be members of the sophomore, junior, or senior class.
  • • maintain an average of 88% or better in regents or honors classes.
  • • exhibit leadership and positive character (must be in good standing).
  • • have spent at least one full semester at Sacred Heart High School.
  • • complete the required service hours prior to induction.
  • • must be available to serve as tutors throughout the school year.

ACADEMIC FAILURE

Students are considered to have failed a subject if a grade less than 65% is received for the year as a final average in a course. A student who fails any subject must attend summer school at Sacred Heart High School. A student may not graduate until he/she has made up any failures they have incurred regardless of credits they may have.

Failure of three subjects for the year may result in dismissal from Sacred Heart High School. If a student has several failures in January he/she may be dismissed pending an administrative review.

A student who fails four or more courses for the year will be dismissed from Sacred Heart High School.

About us

gr
MISSED EXAMS

Upon a student’s return to school from a legal absence, the student will have two days to make up any missed exams or tests. If a student is absent from a Mid-Term or Final Exam, a physician’s note explaining the absence is required.

CONFERENCES

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled after the first and second marking periods. If a parent wishes to consult with a teacher at any other time, he/she may call the school office for an appointment. In this way, a meeting can be arranged for the convenience of all concerned.

LIBRARY

The library is open school days from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Students may use the library before school, after school or at lunch by obtaining a pass from the technology coordinator. The library/media center provides an organized and curriculum based book collection that is updated on an ongoing basis. Other services include: access to print and online periodicals and computers with Internet access.

WEBSITE

The Sacred Heart High School website was created to provide access to the “life” of the school in a quick and easy fashion. Under the direction of the technology coordinator it is updated and maintained regularly. It contains links to information about school programs, admissions, homework, sports, activities, faculty, school publications and the school year calendar. The school’s website address is www.sacredhearths.net
