A Message
from Mrs. McNamara
Principal of Sacred Heart High School
Dear Alumni and Friends,
As spring
approaches, we once again reach out to you
for your support as we continue to carry out
our mission of educating men and women in
the Catholic tradition here in
Yonkers.
I am proud of
our young men and women who are continuously
challenged on all levels by our fine staff.
At mid-year, one third of our students were
recognized with honors, and several of our
“honor students” received acceptance into
the college of their choice. Many of these
students could not have journeyed our halls
for the last four years if it were not for
the scholarships you provided.
Life at the
“Heart” continues to thrive outside of the
classroom. Our football, basketball,
volleyball and track teams make us proud and
we have just revived cheerleading on
the varsity level. The Sacred Heart Players
are busy working on the April production of
Damn Yankees, and hopefully some of them
will be nominated for the prestigious
“Helen” high school drama award. We just
completed our annual blood drive and proudly
marched in the Yonkers St. Patrick’s Day
Parade. If you have not come “home”
recently, please do so.
We are
beginning a 5-year Strategic Plan, and with
your help and support our goals for
academic excellence in a financially secure
“state of the art” setting can become a
reality.
I thank you
once again from all of us “at the Heart” for
giving tomorrow’s young men
and women the gift of hope.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Agnes McNamara
