Re:  Orientation Day Information

All Sophomores report to school by 9:30 a.m.
dismissal about 10:15 a.m.

Wednesday, September 3rd (Juniors)

All Juniors report to school by 10:30 a.m.
dismissal about 11:15 a.m.

Thursday, September 4th (Seniors)

All Seniors report to school by 9:30 a.m.
dismissal about 10:15 a.m.


Students must make their own arrangements for transportation on Orientation
Days.

* Please familiarize yourself and your child with the new Student
Handbook. The academic policies and other regulations (which
are stated in the handbook) will be discussed on Orientation Day.
The parent/guardian and student must sign the Calendar/Handbook
Contract for 2008-2009 (green sheet of paper). This contract will be
collected on Orientation Day by your child’s homeroom teacher

*Student Planner (homework organizer) is mandated for 2008-2009.
The planner will help students, parents and teachers track daily
progress. The cost of the book is $10.00 and will be available for
purchase on Orientation Day.

1. The Fall uniform is the proper attire for Orientation Day. (#9)

2. HOMEROOM LIST ENCLOSED - report to designated homeroom.

3. Full student body will be in attendance on Friday, September 5th from
8:15 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. Bus transportation will be available.

4. Please fill out the two colored index cards accurately and completely;
making sure the student’s social security number is clearly written.
Also, please fill out the Student Emergency Contact Form. They will
be collected by the homeroom teacher on Orientation Day.

5. LUNCH FORM should be completed and returned to Sacred Heart High
School on or before September 5th for those who qualify for free or reduced
price lunches. With your cooperation the reduced lunch program will begin
on September 15th. The regular lunch program begins on September 8th.

6. TUITION - tuition payment plan must be selected and payment up-to-date
for students to attend classes. Please call the Bursar’s Office if this has
not been done.

7. BOOKS – during the first week of school students may be required to purchase
some additional workbooks and/or paperback books. The teachers will advise
as to titles and cost.

8. GYM UNIFORM and SCHOOL LOCKS - all students are required to
purchase a gym uniform. For boys and girls this consists of shirt and
shorts. The price is $35.00. Locks are necessary to secure the lockers.
ONLY locks purchased at Sacred Heart may be used. The cost of
each lock is $5.00.

9. Mandatory School Uniform for the Fall:

For the Girls:

The girls’ uniform consists of the white
LaCoste style short-sleeve knit shirt, the school
blackwatch plaid skirt, black panty hose with
black or navy shoes. Slipper-type shoes or sneakers
are not allowed.

For the Boys:

The boys’ uniform consists of the green LaCoste
style short-sleeve knit shirt, khaki pants with
black or brown shoes.

10. STUDENT SCHEDULES – students will receive their schedule on Orientation Day
in their homeroom.

11. FAILURES – any student who failed courses during the school year and has not
given proof of attendance in summer school and grades from summer courses,
MUST present this information to Administration before being re-admitted to
Sacred Heart High School.
